What is Real Estate? Definition of Real estate - Real estate is land and all physical buildings, including all objects attached to the land, such as buildings, trees, and fences.

The definition of real estate can be seen from the use of these two words. Real has the meaning of the word royal or royal, and estate has the meaning of the word land. In Indonesian, real estate is also often referred to as real estate.

Meanwhile, according to the Financial Services Authority ( OJK ), is land and all physical buildings, including all objects attached to the land, such as buildings, trees, and fences. 

Real estate also refers to a legal term relating to a plot of land and its environment as well as the buildings and projects that exist on that land.

However, in the modern era , people who are present in the community can consist of three categories, namely residential , industrial, and commercial .

Real estate can be grouped into three broad categories based on its use, namely:

Residential

Residential is a building used for residence, for example for housing, flats , and condominiums . In this residential area there is usually a place for small businesses such as minimarkets and cottage industries.

Commercial

Commercial is real estate that is used for commercial purposes and for profit. Some examples of commercial real estate are office buildings, warehouses, hotels.

Industrial

Industrial is a business field that is attached to the land. Some examples of these industries are: 

• The plantation sector, in this case also includes mining and forestry.
• The housing sector, in this case related to residential, multifunctional housing and residential real estate.
• Based on these groupings, this type of housing can be in the form of buildings or plantations that have been tied up by certain lands and managed by the company for its clients.
• Commercial sector, namely buildings used for business activities such as offices, shopping centers, apartments and hotels.
• The industrial sector, in this case, includes light, medium and heavy industry.

Difference between Property and Real Estate

Maybe some of you think that real estate and property are the same thing. However, these two are two different terms. 

Property can be defined as ownership of land or buildings attached to it. Property can be said to not only look at the structure of the building attached to it, but also ownership rights and interests over the land and buildings.

While this type of property refers more to the physical (land and buildings) while the property does not only refer to the physical but also physical ownership rights (land and buildings).

So it can be concluded, if the type of housing can be referred to as property, but cannot view property as real estate.
